The other feature is something that is pretty useful. "Breaking News" is now controllable. Basically the other day I was on the site and saw breaking news and went to click on a story but missed it when I thought of it being controllable.

So now if there is more than one breaking news story you can stop it (pressing x), go to the next story (>) and back a story (<). If you want to start it back up click on the "Breaking News" image. Something small but useful and nice when there is more than one story breaking. (which happens more than you would think)

Lite Feature

Upcoming there is a "Lite" feature that is in the works, this pretty much means if you select it you will be sent to the less JS (or non-js) versions of features including "Headlines", "War News" and the newly made "Breaking News" and homepage. Links to choose this option is upcoming.

Bug

Now before I say what is coming up, feature wise, there is a bug with the new homepage. Unfortunately, for a reason that I am unsure about at the moment, voting does not work. When you click on it, it acts like the JS has not been processed but I am not sure if it will NOT be possible to have the raters or if I am missing something.

Upcoming

Now upcoming first off is once the bug has been dealt with, I will apply the new news page to the other sections. (world, us, etc.) Website wise I will be doing some SEO optimization and possibly more link exchanges. As well I will be submitting the site to a few directories (dmoz and yahoo namely) and promise I will be posting more at the forums.

I may also look and think about possibly a new layout this spring or summer as I have some BIG feature ideas and a new layout able to handle (yet look great) current and more may end up required.

In the short term I will be finishing up things such as lite, in the coming weeks upgrading the forum software and writing content. Until next time.
