2007 is coming up and possibly a week or two from now we will be hearing announcements from politicians that will be running for president. So front runners for the republican party, who do you think they will be and who has a chance at going all the way?My Picks: Republicans have a strong 2 but not a third one like Democrats, but the strong two ones are of course McCain and Guliani. It will be very interesting to see say 3 or even 6 months from now how polls are going, a month or so ago McCain was beating out Hillary by 5-10 points and Guliani by about the same margin, but now he is behind by the same amount so who knows. And once conservatives realize Guliani is fairly liberal and McCain although not on the right for some issues, is largely conservative...it should be interesting.

the republicans will lose if they pick anyone other than Ron Paul
Quote:the republicans will lose if they pick anyone other than Ron Paul
It would be a miracle if he could get 5% in a normal (non-online), accurate poll, let alone get close to winning the primary.
He is one of my early favorites so far but he just has no chance. :(
Why does he have no chance? If there's anything I've learned it's that moderate politics don't win. Paul is analogous to a libertarian, isn't he?
Let's see.... republican front runner? I really wasn't aware we had one Giuliani is a mystery to me... I honestly don't know how he has so much support. He was a mayor... not even a senator, or governor... or even a representative like the rest of the candidates. Ron Paul - a topic of discussion on many a political forum, and for good reason. If nothing else Dr. Paul has shown us that even someone with little to no financial backing can make the higher tier candidates worry... using this wonderful (and largely free) tool that we call the internet. John McCain - up in debt to his eyeballs... and the only real thing he has going for him is his PoW status during Vietnam. That will only carry him for so long though. Mitt Romney - He looks like a president, talks like a president, walks like a president, carries himself like a president.... but that's about it. That aura of confidence though pulls alot of people to him. Tom Tancredo - no money, didn't use the internet to its fullest potential.... end of story Duncan Hunter - Brilliant man on foreign policy and such... but, he pretty much fell off the grid completely. Mike Huckabee - Spent all his money on the Iowa Straw Poll which turned out to be worthless because of the lack of participation from the 'higher tier' candidates.
