As shown through U.S. history, if one party screws up, the other party gets voted in. I'm sure we can all rest assure that Bush screwed up, and most of America agrees. So a democrat will be voted into office next time. But wait, what if Hillary Clinton is the running woman for the democrats? Is America ready for a woman president? I have a feeling we aren't, even though you or myself might be. But let's just assume they aren't. So the Americans are left with two choices. A) A party that screwed up last time B) A woman president But wait a second. There's a C. C) The next best thing. But who's the next best thing? A third party, of course. And who's the biggest third party in the U.S.? Why, the libertarians, of course! I agree with the libertarians, except for their "lassez faire" or whatever it is. But that just shows the U.S. that third parties are able to win also, so more votes might go to them later on. It'll be a revolution.

I think America is as ready for a woman president as a non-white president, however the field for both are small. Obama doesn't have near enough reach thus far to become a president and Hillary has baggage. I can't see either winning, Hillary would of course have a better shot but I just don't think she could win it, maybe get to the Primary but polls have shown between her and McCain she will lose. (though polls don't mean anything) Personally I think the Republicans have a better selection at this point and I think they do have a chance. We said a few months ago the Democrats winning back the Senate was a gurantee and now we are seeing that it's going to be close. The republicans strongest is McCain, he's been sweetening up to the far-righter's which he will need and has consistently beat out Hillary and all other candidates in all polls I have seen so far. But it's hard to say as we don't know what the Iraq war will be like by say late 2007-earlier 2008. Quote:So the Americans are left with two choices. A) A party that screwed up last time B) A woman president For one what about moderate republicans? They have not agreed with the war for example which seems to be the main issue that experts give the advantage to democrats. And what about a normal democrat candidate, or do you think the selection is not good? Quote:But wait a second. There's a C. C) The next best thing. But who's the next best thing? For one I thought Independents were bigger or are Libertarians counted as an Independent? Either way I could see a swing, say they could get 5-7% of the vote but I would guess that's about it. If they could get well-known, well-liked candidates then maybe.
As stated earlier, this is just a possibility. I could debate with you that America doesn't care if it's a moderate republican or not, but I'd probably be wrong. We shall just wait and see, that is if all goes to according to plan.

It's pretty hard really to guess who has a good chance and who doesn't considering how new things can pop up and situation's can change. But I think McCain and Clinton are each parties strongest card. (though like I said, I don't think Clinton can win it)
There's a rumour by Clinton's press or something of the sort that she might not even run for president this year. I really hope it's just someone wiping their ass (kinda like Fox News ), but you never know.

Yeah I've heard she may not even run, which may not be the worst thing (since she would have 4 more years to improve her image, though I don't know how). The Democrats next best is what, Gore and Kerry?
If Rudy Giuliani and John McCain are running and are partners republicans would be in just because of the sole reason New York would go repub.
Quote:If Rudy Giuliani and John McCain are running and are partners republicans would be in just because of the sole reason New York would go repub. That would be an amazing ticket, McCain running as president and Giuliani as vice (or vice-versa). I don't know how much either one wants to be president over vice though.

Rudy already said he will be running. And a big possibility of McCain running with him.
I wouldn't mind seeing a woman president. I think it's about time but. But on the front of the democrats don't forget there's a Senator from Indiana by the name of Evan Bayh who has an extremely strong following trying to persuade him to run for President in 2008. Take into account that even though Indiana is a very Republican state, most Hoosiers like what Bayh has done since he was first elected back in 1998. He has followed strongly in the footsteps of his father who used to be Governor of Indiana. So while I do think Hilary Clinton would make a great first woman President for the United States, there's also no doubt in my mind that Bayh would do a very good job.
