The Democrat Senator from Illinois is weighing in on running in 2008. What are your thoughts on this?
I have mixed feelings. With Oprah's support and a general like for the guy it seems like the time would be now, but then I don't know if he could stand up when against Hillary or even Gore and Kerry and unless things change a lot, he would stand no chance at all against McCain and Gulliani (who are both leading polls). If he waited he could get experience and hope for easier match ups but by then the Democrats could have stronger candidates. If I had to say, he should run.

I think Barak has quite a chance at the dem nomination with the right running mate. but I think he'll be more successful as a vice nominee.that being said I dont think this guy is the values oriented moderate that he would like to portray.I wont be voting for him. omotu

I just don't think he has enough experience at the moment, like I heard on Tucker. Out of all of the times in recent memory, when we need an experienced "leader". He has charisma and both ends of the aisle like him, but the time isn't right.
I think that the 'experienced' politicians in power at the moment are frickin idiots and only have aspirations for power. Their experience has not prevented us from getting embroiled in an unwinable and thoroughly devastating war in Iraq.Though Obama may not have the same length of service in politics as George Bush and Dick Cheney, perhaps a 'fresh pair of eyes' would do the US the world of good - someone with honour and integrity is what is needed back at the whitehouse as these traits have been absent there for far too long. However, I do agree with the comment that he would need a strong running mate in order to ensure success.

He has a better chance then Hillary Clinton although Kim Jong-il would be better

I agree completely with that, we however I also think we need a president that has military experience or at least decent knowledge of it. I've thought McCain has been the best so far.
He is too inexperienced, and too liberal to win a general election. I am not going to swoon over the flavor of the week.
If not now then when? No Obama shouldn't be someone's running mate and No he shouldn't wait and get more experience. He has as much experience as he needs, working for people. He's been working for people and their issues since he left college. He is a candidate for the people and he is liberal but he also believes in bipartisanship. So what's wrong with him? He wasn't in the military, well that's why we have generals who take care of the logistics. I believe he is the best candidate because he has made his stance on his issues fromt he beginning and has not deviated from them. Also look at how the man is fundraising, grass roots not from PACS.
