My name is Charlie Page, I'm 18 and have been a webmaster for about 5 years and a PHP/MySQL programmer for nearly 2 years. I have over 12 sites, though I hope to cut that down possibly. I have written and released two open source PHP scripts, BlogPHP and OneCMS. OneCMS is a gaming content management system for gaming sites, it has over 7000 downloads and has been available for 2 years this winter. BlogPHP is a PHP blog script out for almost 6 months, already reaching 6000 downloads, the upcoming version will be used on the main site in some ways. I have been interesting in politics for just a year and by opening this site my goal is to get a good community of members interested in politics that can also have fun. I also like sports - I follow most of all the Cincinnati Bengals, but also follow the Ohio State Buckeyes and pay attention to the Cincinnati Bearcats (basketball) and Cincinnati Reds. I also like video games (my first site was/is a video game website) though I more of a casual gamer. I will pickup the occasional new game as well as sports game but I mostly play NFL/NBA/MLB and I love Enemy Territory on the PC and Rise of Nations. Well that's about it. :)
At nearly 58 it's difficult not to call you kid, with affection, and regret I too could not share your technological knowledge, that facility endowed to our young. I'm a blogger and am being held more or less captive by my present host, who refuses to allow me to use my own blogware. Anybody who can write stuff like that deserves my nod of respect. First impressions here: clean legibility, lightning-fast display times, and probably something that could inspire many similar turnkey operations. Widen your column width for replies, to a standard 6-inch text line, and (I politely ask in behalf of the visually-impaired), your font size be scootched larger, just a hair, to accomodate us blind old fogies. Will wander around and paw the merchandise. I like what I see so far.
