Feature wise the first one you will see is an upgraded home page. It will be tabbed similar to the war news page but instead of conflict zones you can switch between the "Top Stories" (what the current homepage is), "Most Popular" (the highest rated stories of the current day) and "Latest News". (basically the current news page) I had thought of the option of switching between sources but I want to keep the site simple yet useful. This feature should be up shortly, likely today. (the 12th)
After that I will finally be setup up the "breaking news". Basically this is my way of manually entering breaking news. US Syria Embassy attacked, North Korean missile launch, Zarqawi and Ford - all stories I have broken either several minutes after a few sources or in the instance of I believe all but one or all of them, several minutes after just one source reporting. In the case of Saddam being hung and even the Greece bombing just today, the AP had a hefty delay and if you can get a story up before anyone else, that is huge. On the user side it will look like a normal breaking news story (though I may set a "news alert" and then for this and stories under 5 minutes ago reported, "breaking news") but on my side it will allow me to post a quick snippet in seconds. This should be done in the next week or two.
Other features are coming as well including possibly in the next few weeks (or likely after that) an upgrade to the forums, the official AdaptBB software which I can hopefully finish up to a beta. Probably sooner is something sort of similar to yahoo with "easy url's", say politicalyard.com/events/greece_us_embassy_attack, which you could go to at any time and the URL would not expire. This is great say for an event occurring you could remember that link and go back to that and if there is a new story about that, it will be listed.
Traffic is on the increase and I hope you all enjoy the upcoming goodies. Until next time.
